The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit at NMSM Government College Kalpetta operates with the motto of “Unity and Discipline” and is dedicated to shaping young minds with values of leadership, discipline, and patriotism. The unit aims to instill a spirit of comradeship, selfless service, and adventure among youth while creating a motivated and organized human resource ready to lead in various walks of life and serve the nation.

Our college is proud to host a senior wing NCC unit with a total strength of 119 cadets, comprising 39 boys (Senior Division) and 80 girls (Senior Wing). The unit is affiliated with the 05 Kerala Battalion of NCC, Wayanad, established in 2019, and continues to uphold its reputation for outstanding performance within the battalion.

Under the capable leadership of Lt. Dr. Basheer Poolakkal, Associate NCC Officer and Assistant Professor of Arabic, who has been at the helm since June 2017, the NCC unit has organized 28 annual regular parades and various leadership and unity development programs. AIM OF NCC

The ‘Aims’ of the NCC laid out in 1988 have stood the test of time and continue to meet the requirements expected of it in the current socio–economic scenario of the country. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.

We the cadets of the National Cadet Corps,
do solemnly pledge that we shall always uphold the unity of India.
We resolve to be disciplined and responsible citizens of our nation.
We shall undertake positive community service in the spirit of selflessness
and concern for our fellow beings.
