NMSM GOVERNMENT COLLEGE UNIT

A BRIEF REPORT OF THE ACTIVITIES OF 2020-21

                       The motto of NCC is    “UNITY AND DISCIPLINE”. The college is having an active and alert NCC unit with the following aims.

• To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and selfless service among youth.
• To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and be always available for the service of the nation.
• To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the Armed Forces.

                         The college has a senior wing NCC unit with strength of 107 cadets including 40 boys (SD) and 67 girls (SW). The unit is the part of 05 Kerala Battalion of NCC –Wayanad which newly started Battalion in 2019. The college NCC unit always keeps its head high with its excellent performance among the NCC units of Battalion. Lt. Dr. Basheer Poolakkal, Assistant Professor of Arabic is the Associate NCC Officer of the NCC unit from June 2017. The NCC unit of the college has conducted 35 annual regular parades along with various other programmes for developing the spirit of unity and leadership among the cadets.
