Walk with a Scholar Scheme is a new initiative of the Directorate of Collegiate Education. It proposes to arrange specialized mentoring programme for students in Under Graduate programmes in Arts, Science and Commerce and to provide guidance for their future. The scheme introduces the idea of mentoring and builds on the concept of mentor as a Guide and Friend.

The programme was started in 2012-13 by selecting 30 bright students of Ist semester U G Programmes of different departments. They were placed under 5 Internal Mentors who were the members of the teaching staff. Each Internal mentor was in charge of 6 students. Apart from this efficient and experienced resource persons from different fields of activity had conducted external mentoring for the Mentees.

The programme continued for the year 2013-14 and 30 more mentees and 5 internal mentors were selected after retaining the previously selected mentees and mentors. As envisaged by the Govt. The programme has been conducted in a proper way aiming the high achievers. The programme has been guided by the efficient leadership of both Internal and external mentors.
